If you’re looking for the next big idea, you should look no further than the people on your team. Creating a culture of ideation will provide you with a wealth of ideas from your team.
Episode Transcript:
If your organization is looking for the next big thing—an idea that will attract new customers, improve your products or services, or even just give you a leg up on your competition—the good news is that you already have what you need right at your fingertips. Your employees.
Your employees are the defining factor to your success. They are the ones who will execute, and potentially even improve, your vision. You just need to get the right tools and processes in place for them to help you.
First, make innovation commonplace. Your people should always be thinking of ways to improve your organization, whether through its processes, services, products, or customer interactions. If you don’t create space for innovation, or if your people are intimidated by it, you’ll miss out on major opportunities.
So, work on creating a culture of ideation and innovation and create a system to support and sustain that culture of continuous improvement. You’ll need systems for idea generation, storage, and management as well as a process to develop, implement, and measure the success of those ideas.
Once you get these in place, you’ll find you have a well-oiled team full of ideas—one of which, might just be the next big thing. Until next time, keep innovating!
