We know we need purpose, pathway, and people. But why do these three things give us the Innovator’s Advantage?
Episode Transcript
What are the three P’s of innovation? This is Ron Price, co-author of The Innovator’s Advantage. The first ‘P’ of innovation is Purpose. What is the problem we’re trying to solve? How well do we understand that problem? Have we gotten to the root cause, or are we just dealing with symptoms? What would be the impact of solving this problem, what new value would we create for others if we decide to solve this problem? The second ‘P’ of innovation is Pathway. How can we methodically, scientifically, move through the Innovation Continuum to continually create new value? In The Innovator’s Advantage, there are six very distinct stages of the pathway and how we manage those so that we create lasting value. The third ‘P’ is People. How might we organize people to make the innovation journey work better, faster, and bigger? Understanding and managing these three P’s, Purpose, Pathway, and People, doing this intelligently and consistently is the true Innovator’s Advantage. So, until next time, keep innovating!
