Ron Price outlines a specific type of innovation—incremental innovation. Does your company take advantage of incremental change in your innovation process?
Episode Transcript:
What is incremental innovation? My name is Ron Price, co-author of The Innovator’s Advantage. Actually, most innovation is almost invisible. It can be something as simple as cutting down on waste or making a product work a little bit better or anticipating your customer’s needs even before they ask. Or maybe it’s reviewing a project after it’s completed to identify what went well and how you can improve it next time. It might also be adding just ten percent value to what you do for your customers. Incremental innovation is making small improvements, increasing value in little ways over time so that eventually they become great additions of value for your customers. So, don’t be afraid about innovation because you’re doing it every day, every time you make a little improvement that creates value for others. Until next time, keep innovating!
