We always tell people and we remind people that innovation doesn’t happen by accident. As a matter of fact, you may have heard about these “accidental inventions,” but I can almost guarantee they were not accidental innovations. You have to plan to innovate.
That means, you need to have structure, you need to have skills, you need to have knowledge, you need to have processes. And, therefore, the Innovator’s Advantage model that says you have to have a very clear purpose, you have to have a very clear process and pathways for success. And then you need to integrate the right skills and the right people at the right different stages—talking about the Six Stages of Innovation—and the different tools you need to use and how to measure success along the way. Therefore, accidental innovation—ehh, that is an oxymoron almost. But what we want you to do is we want you to plan. Be intentional! And we have the tools, the structure, the processes to help you do that at The Innovator’s Advantage.
