Influential communicator personalities are all about stories and new ideas. The Innovator’s Advantage Team dives into this type of communication style and how to best engage them in the workplace.
Episode Transcript:
Are you an influential communicator?
In our last episode, we talked about how dominant communicator personalities are direct, logical, and always on the move. They prefer freedom from supervision and too many details—much like influential communicator personalities.
This communication style most aligns with Stages 1 and 6 of the Six Stages of Innovation, the Identify and Scale Stages. It makes sense then that these personality types are usually full of stories. Identifiers love producing new ideas and Scalers love sharing them with the world. You might notice these communicators are very animated when they speak. They are looking for interaction and thrive in environments with a high degree of contact.
If you want to engage this communication style, be sure to talk about people and their goals, dreams, and ambitions. Allow time for non-business interactions and give them space so that they don’t feel overly controlled. Disorganization and strict supervision will close these personalities off, so avoid those if possible.
Have you discovered your communication personality yet? In our next episode, we’ll dive into the Compliant communicator. Until then, keep innovating!
