Innovation is not for the clouded mind. In this series, Ron Price examines the 12 enemies of successful innovation—starting with a lack of clarity.

Episode Transcript:

There are 12 enemies of successful innovation. Enemy number one is lack of clarity. First of all, clarity does not come easy. It takes a lot of work! But when there’s a lack of clarity, it’s hard for people to know what problems they’re solving and why they are solving them. This is the beginning of all successful innovation and this should be clarified in your strategy at the beginning to reduce noise and inaction. Without clarity, the noise will overwhelm, over-distract, both internal and external stakeholders. They won’t know what to pay attention to, what to believe, or what to act upon. So, practice clarifying your strategy to overcome the number one enemy of successful innovation: lack of clarity.
