What type of person will excel in the second stage of innovation, the Define Stage? This is Ron Price, co-author of The Innovator’s Advantage. In Stage Two, the Define Stage, the person or people who will excel are those who have great skills in planning and organizing, who are great at goal achievement and project management, who are personally accountable and great problem-solvers and good at time and priority management. They will be very intentional in their desire to help others, selfless, looking to accomplish tasks without an immediate need for return on investment. Their behavioral traits will be their willingness to follow policy, to follow up and follow through, to maintain organization in all of their work, to be consistent, and to be a coordinator between the tasks and the people that create results in the Define Stage. The leadership style for a person in the Define Stage is a Coordinator. Again, somebody who is able to coordinate between the tasks that need to be done and the people who will help them get there. These are the people who will excel in the Define Stage. So, until next time, keep innovating!
