Where does the journey begin for great innovations? It begins by identifying problems to be solved. Whose problem is it? What are the symptoms? How big is the problem? And what is the impact—what difference would it make when we solve this problem? When we think about innovating, oftentimes we think of solving our own problems. And there’s nothing wrong with that! But great innovations always solve someone else’s problem and great innovations are the way that we change the world. So start asking: what are your problems? What are the symptoms? How big are your problems? What is the impact of your problems? And in listening and capturing those ideas, you have begun to become a great innovator. So let’s keep innovating!
