What type of person excels in the Verify Stage, Stage 4 of The Innovator’s Advantage? This is Ron Price, co-author of The Innovator’s Advantage. And in the Verify Stage, we’re looking for the person who has strong planning and organizing skills, a strong customer focus, great interpersonal skills, somebody who’s self-starting and great with time and priority management, who’s flexible and diplomatic. We’re looking for somebody who feels a sense of achievement through being collaborative and being intentional in the way that they work with others and objective in their environment where they are focused on results and selfless where they don’t always have to have an immediate return on investment. Behaviorally, we’re looking for somebody who values following policies, frequent interaction with others, the analysis of data. Somebody who is very people-oriented—in effect, we’re looking for a leadership style of being an analyzer, somebody who loves to study and look at the detail and verify the innovations taking place. They have a strong bias for practical results, for working with and helping others, and for improving and building great systems. This is the person who excels in Stage 4, the Verify Stage. So until next time, keep innovating.
